Howth RNLI Rescue Man from Harbour

21:11:2009

Howth Inshore Lifeboat (ILB) was tasked to Howth Harbour last night to rescue a distressed man in mid forties, who had fallen into the water from a fishing trawler.

The voluntary RNLI crew were requested to assist by Howth Gardai who were already at the scene. The Lifeboat launched to rescue the distressed man from the water. The crew administered first aid to him as he was suffering from exposure. He was then taken safely ashore, and transferred to a waiting ambulance.

Dave Howard, RNLI voluntary Helmsman says:

“The man was lucky the Lifeboat launched within three minutes as was able to rescue him from the cold water so quickly”

The RNLI is the charity that saves lives at sea. RNLI Christmas cards are available at various outlets.
